I see you, my love. I see you.
I see the powerful and empowered woman that you are.
You wear different hats and attend to many responsibilities.
You give and give and give to others.
But when did you last make yourself a priority?
Your soul is speaking.
Do you hear its whisper?
This month, you are invited to reconnect with the Greater Life Force within and around you.
This one-day retreat is designed to help you cultivate vitality in your daily life. Turning ordinary days into extraordinary. Infusing meaning and presence into your routines and practices.
At the heart of our contemplative retreat is the intention to offer you a safe and sacred space where you can just BE, BREATHE, and BELONG.
You will also be guided to explore how to love your life and the world — as is — through the practices of stillness, silence, reflection, writing, and sitting in a sacred circle.
There will be times for sitting in sacred circles online and offline for silent times.
*There will be scheduled times to go online and offline.
“There is a vitality, a life force, an energy that’s translated through you into action. And because there is only one you in all time, this expression is unique. And if you block it, it will never exist in any other medium…the world will not have it. It is not your business to determine how good it is, nor how valuable, nor how it compares with other expressions. It is your job to keep it yours clearly and directly, to keep the channel open.”
— Martha Graham, quoted in Agnes DeMille’s memoir, Dance to the Piper
A contemplative retreat is an invitation for you to share in the intention of, and make a commitment to, engaging in a shared practice of being in silence. Creating this space allows us to listen more deeply to our inner voices. There will be time for both personal and communal contemplative practices. Specifically, we’ll have time for reflection, journal writing, sitting in stillness, sitting in sacred circles, and voluntary sharing. Contemplative retreats offer the gift of restorative quiet, true listening, and sacred space.
When you go on an in-person contemplative retreat, you are invited to be in a companionable silence for the duration of the retreat. This means being in silence except when the whole group is together for the program sessions. Doing this virtually will be a bit challenging, especially if you’re living with other people. I find that letting the people you live with know beforehand that you will be going on a virtual contemplative retreat, and what this means for you and for them, helps a lot in creating a space to be in silence.
It is important for everyone to agree in co-creating and holding a safe, judgment-free, supportive, and life-giving space for everyone in the group. In group sharing, you are committing to offer true listening, hold others’ sharing in confidence, and see each individual as a sacred soul with their sacred human experience. We abide by the golden rules of “do no harm” and “give what you want to receive.”
The retreat will run from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm on May 9, 2021, Sunday. You may come online in our Zoom meeting room at 8:55 am.
We will start promptly at 9:00 am. The full schedule will be shared on the day of the retreat.
No. There will be scheduled times for going online to be with the group for the program sessions, as well as times to go offline to do your individual contemplative practices. Having said that, you are still invited to be in silence and stay with the contemplative practice whenever you go offline.
I understand that contemplative retreats are not for everyone. But can I stir you a little? The fact that you are reading this is telling me that there is something within you that is curious and interested. I invite you to follow your curiosity and interest. Who knows? Maybe this is your Spirit inviting you to disconnect from the routine of your daily life, so that you can connect with the Greater Life Force within and around you.
At the very best, you are gifting yourself what your soul truly needs at this time. At the very worst, you would “waste” a day taking a break from the demands of your daily life.
While I have much love for all beings, I felt guided to co-create and hold this sacred space for women at this time.
At this time, there are no scheduled retreats in the future. If you want to stay updated with our future programs and/or be one of Jostine’s VIPs, you may subscribe to our mailing list here.
